Tip 32, for 7/18/08

Learn how to have a meaningful conversation without using words or using only one to two word answers.

Use facial expressions and different degrees and combinations of head nods, head shakes, shoulder shrugs and hand gestures. The other person can talk, that doesn't really matter. Sometimes it's important when you can't speak (losing your voice). Sometimes you just don't need to say anything. Sometimes you don't need to reveal too much information, and not saying anything is an easy way to do this. Sometimes you just won't feel like talking.

This is an important skill, it takes practice and doesn't come easily to everyone.
