Tip 41, for 7/28/08

Heart.

Paul Lobban, my former tennis coach told me a story once which I have related to many people since then and will relate to you all now. If you've already heard the punch-line, well, deal with it.

He told me about this guy he used to play with. He was getting on in years to be playing tennis and, as comes with age, he was often not physically 100%. So Paul is coaching this guy or whatever and he says "how's the knee today? (or something like that)" The guy says, "it hurts like hell, but it's a long way from my heart. (or something like that)"

So whatever is sore or hurts or is tender or whatever- it's a long way from your heart. Push through, you're not going to die from burning lungs and legs. Nor will you die from tired arms from push-ups or abs from plank.

Unless it is your heart that hurts, in which case you should probably stop what your doing and get yourself checked out.
