You need to have my respect before you can give me advice, well, at least if you expect me to listen. I don't care if you're older, I don't care if you have more experience, I don't care that you have a piece of paper or two or three that cost you thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Those things don't equal respect. Correlation is not causation. Respect, like trust, is earned. I need to have cause to respect you. If you haven't earned respect then you don't deserve it.
Feel free to talk. Feel free to think you're important. Just don't assume I care.
