This tip suggested by RE:
Ramen noodles and their respective directions. The ramen noodles, regardless of brand, provide cooking instructions for those not versed in the three minutes in boiling water school of cooking. They state that you need to let the noodles sit for three (3) minutes prior to consumption after putting in the boiling water. This, however, is misleading and will put you on the fast track to a burnt tounge/mouth.
Although the noodles may be cooked, they are not really ready for consumption. This is particularly true if they are in a styrofoam cup. Although you may think the styrofoam is thin and therefore cannot be a very good insulator, we use the goddamn things for calorimiters for goddsakes. And if you don't know what that is fucking look it up because I'm not linking your sorry ass.
Long story short- let the noodles cool and soak up some of the salty delicious salty salty soup and cool. You won't be sorry, unless you wait too long, then your noodles will be cold and you will be sorry- sorry.
