Tip 87: Folding Socks

Mundane tip, but a good tip in my opinion.

Some people fold their socks by simply folding the pairs in half. This is a terrible idea. When you put your socks in this configuration into your socks drawer, when you remove socks the chances that they stay paired are slim, and unpaired socks are useless if you want to wear them and you have two feet.

I suggest that you roll your socks together, but everyone knows this. This keeps the socks paired and doesn't increase the amount of space they take up by much. The tip part of this tip, however, is how you should prepare to roll them such that you achieve the proper configuration. One sock should be inside out, while the other is right side out. The inside out sock should be positioned such that when you roll it, the outside surface of the rolled up pair is the outside of the sock.
